Glue

There are many reasons to use Intercol adhesives. In recent years, it has become more common for companies to outsource work to specialized partners who can use the know-how and work more efficiently. Intercol has proven to many prestigious clients to be a strong adhesive partner in Western Europe.

Dispersion adhesives (Pvac, Eva, Pu)

Aqueous dispersion adhesives consist of a solid adhesive, usually Pvac and EVA, which is dispersed in an aqueous phase. Most of our adhesives are formulated with water-soluble and food-safe additives such as surfactants, emulsifiers, preservatives, wetting agents, plasticizers and adhesion promoters. The drying process is made possible by the environment, the substrates and the air. The adhesive must be completely dry for maximum strength. Small amounts of residual moisture or water-soluble additives can weaken the dry adhesive film and reduce its resistance to moisture and water.

Hot melt adhesives (EVA hot melt, PO hot melt)

There are two main types of industrial hot melt adhesives: ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) and polyolefin or metallocene. EVA is a copolymer adhesive most commonly used in the paper, packaging and assembly industries as they bond to a wide variety of cellulosic materials and have a wide variety of formulations. The composition of the adhesive has a direct influence on its properties. Because they can be specially formulated for different applications, there are different types available on the market.

Reactive hot melt adhesives (pur)

Reactive hot melt adhesives are processed in the same way as EVA and polyolefin hot melt adhesives. After rapid cooling, it gives green power through a physical curing process. Subsequently, a chemical cross-linking reaction is initiated by moisture from the environment, which converts the adhesive into an elastomer. Reactive hot melt adhesives provide a stronger bond with better resistance to moisture, heat and chemicals when finally cured.
PUR hot melt adhesives also form strong (covalent) chemical bonds with suitable reactive partners on the substrate surface. Increase in strength and adhesion area.

PU adhesives

Polyurethane and solvent based adhesives are used to create strong and permanent bonds in a range of technical applications.

Intercol has a range of 1-component PU adhesives and is primarily designed for construction applications.

Pressure sensitive adhesives (Psa hot melt)

Intercol offers a wide range of hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesives based on thermoplastic rubbers.

Pressure-sensitive hot melt adhesives are offered for almost all self-adhesive applications, from weak to strong permanent adhesive products. The main areas of application are self-adhesive labels, adhesive tape and plaster products. For many industrial intermediates such as sound insulation, packaging technology, self-adhesive technology often offers a technically intelligent and economical alternative to mechanical assembly processes.

The products are solid at room temperature and are presented in blocks of 0.5, 1, 4, 8 and 20 kg in siliconised cardboard boxes, foil packaging or in siliconised cardboard drums weighing up to 175 kg.

Pressure-sensitive hot melt adhesives are liquefied in block or barrel melters and, depending on the application, processed in a temperature range of 150…180°C with commercially available roller or nozzle coating equipment.
